Art

Art

At Lyndon Green Junior School, we believe that art is a powerful form of self-expression, creativity and communication. Our art curriculum is designed to nurture each child's imagination, develop their technical skills and build their confidence as creators. We view art as an integral part of our pupil’s overall education, providing them with the opportunity to explore their world, experiment with different materials, and express their ideas in innovative ways.

We understand that art fosters creativity, encourages critical thinking and promotes emotional well-being. Our curriculum reflects this belief by offering a broad and diverse range of experiences that challenge and inspire our students. From drawing and painting to sculpture, and printmaking, children at Lyndon Green are introduced to a wide variety of techniques and styles. We are proud of the vibrant artistic community we have fostered at Lyndon Green, and we look forward to seeing how our students will continue to explore, create, and innovate as they move through their education and beyond.

By the time our students leave Lyndon Green Junior School, we expect them to have:

  • A strong foundation in artistic techniques: pupils will have developed their skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking and more. They will be able to use these techniques confidently to create and refine their own artistic work.
  • A creative and independent mindset: through our varied and exciting projects, children will have learned to think imaginatively, taking creative risks and exploring new ways of working.
  • The ability to communicate ideas through art: our students will understand that art is a powerful way to convey thoughts and emotions.

The skills to critique and evaluate art: children will be able to reflect on their own work and the work of others, offering constructive feedback and developing an appreciation for the processes involved in making art.
