Reading

I've attached some poems and rhymes below that we have enjoyed in class. Please use if you can't think of your own.

Phonics

Pond Life Plurals - Make sure you read the rules for making plurals (there is more than 1!) before you play the game.

Investigating 'ai' game - Play Phoneme Spotter first. How many words can you find with the 'ai' ('ay', a-e') sound?

Go back to Home and then play the word sort activity.

Writing

Have a go at writing a song about your family. A song is just a poem with a repeated chorus. Think of a tune you know well and write your song to that tune. Have a verse for each family member and a repeated chorus for all of you! I have started an example below for some members of my family.

My Family

(To the tune of 'This old man, he played one)

Verse        Meet my mum, meet my Mum,

She is kind and lots of fun!

Chorus     We all like to dance and sing.

Fa la la la, ting, ting, ting!

Verse       This is me, this is me,

I like cats and drinking tea!

Chorus    We all like to dance and sing.

Fa la la la, ting, ting, ting!

Maths

We're going on a shape hunt!

See how many 2D and 3D shapes you can find when you are outside.
