Writing task:

Maths task:

Comparing numbers up to 100,000

Year 6

Here are your questions for today! (remember to watch the video before starting). You need to compare the following numbers using the number sentences discussed within the video.

I have modelled the first one for you.

4,641 and 6,781

I know that 4,641 is less than 6,781.

I also know that 6,781 is greater than 4,641.

4,641 < 6,781

Now it’s your turn!

8792 and 7413

36699 and 91287

91924 and 90929

24925 and 34614

67916 and 67866

For your final task today, I would like you to order all of the numbers from the questions above from smallest to largest.

Topic task:

After completing the drawing and labelling of your new gadget from yesterday, we would now like you to create a presentation that advertises your new gadget. You need to try and convince your teachers that this gadget would be worth having in the world. Gadgets need to sell to make money so you need to convince us that your gadget will sell well in the shops.

Consider the following things when creating your presentation:

Why would we need it?

How much will it cost?

How is it different to other gadgets?

Who would want to own it?

Key tip: Make sure that your presentation is clear and informative. You need to persuade people to buy your gadget!

You can present your work through Keynote, Powerpoint or you could even create an advertising video if you are feeling brave!
